While plenty of time will be spent ringing customers out and finding uses for our store credit card, a large chunk will also be spent on basic troubleshooting, especially if you work in the cellular/mobile department. I've come to find this job is a little of both. Take the opportunity when you interview to get a feel for the store's atmosphere, and ask the employees there what they think of their management. I've been lucky enough to work with an awesome team who doesn't put numbers over customer and employee well-being, but one look at Reddit's r/BestBuy will show you that there are some horror stories out there. Like with most retail jobs, your day-to-day experience at BBY will vary WILDLY depending on your management. There are some caveats to be aware of, though. If you have a knack for problem-solving and a desire to help, this really is a nice gig to have. The goals we're given are reasonable, and the job itself is much more focused on genuinely caring about customers than most sales positions.
